We have been busy baking again last weekend and managed to produce two very fine desserts to eat. I’m sure Suzi will post recipes and instructions very shortly along with some nice pictures but for the mean time I will leave you all with a teaser by describing them…

We’re in sunny Spain and of course, we’ve found ourselves an internet cafe - woohoo! The weather is “scorchio” and we’re both a little burnt in places despite using plenty of sunscreen.
That’s it for now though. Will update when we get home.

Well, the weekend was a success. The parents got on well and the Carnival was lots of fun.

Since returning to Frome Matt and I have been busy sorting out our stuff for our holiday. Tomorrow we’ll be flying out to Spain to spend a week there with my Auntie and Uncle.

Matt came up to Borth on the train Thursday 17th of July as this was my Birthday. He bought me a lovely bunch of flowers, Pink GHD Hair Straighteners(!!!) and that evening he treated me to a meal in my favourite restaurant in Aber, Le Figaro.
On the Friday night we attended a 1920’s Murder Mystery Party for my work’s end of academic year celebration. I mistakenly thought that Bonnie and Clyde were around in the 1920’s but they were in the 1930’s - oops. Oh well, we had fun anyway.

Matt - He didn’t want to gel his hair down like that but eventually he gave in and let me do it for him.

Everyone!
On the following Sunday I drove us both down to Frome. Sadly, Matt had to work so I had to keep myself busy during the day doing my assignments. I also went out shopping on a couple of occasions, one of which included meeting Matt for lunch in Trowbridge where he works. On Wednesday evening we went to watch Hancock in Bath Odeon Cinema. On Thursday Matt’s parents took us out to an Indian restaurant to celebrate my birthday.
Matt drove us back to Borth on Friday as I had to work on Saturday morning. While we were there we watched one of the Borth Carnival events, Cors Fochno, which involves people creating structures on the beach which they have to sit or stand on while the tide comes in around them. The last person standing is the winner. Stupidly, I’d gone without suncream that day so I burnt a little on my shoulders.
Back in Frome on Monday Matt was back to work and I was back doing my assignments and going out shopping. We went to Bath Odeon on Wednesday hoping to watch either Wall-e or The Dark Knight, but all of the films were fully booked. *sigh*
Today, Thursday, Matt’s friend Lisa and I met him for lunch in Trowbridge, then Lisa and I went shopping. We had a good old giggle at some of the disgusting clothes that are currently available. I had to buy some insect repellent for Matt and myself, ready for our trip to Spain next week. Matt and I went out to a Chinese buffet this evening. OMG, it was really yummy! I ate far to much. Oops. :s
Tomorrow we’re off back to Borth for the Carnival. We will be dressing up as Bonnie and Clyde for the procession. Matt’s parents are coming with us, so our parents will be meeting each other for the first time.

Old design with the picture of Ronnie on it was cute but wasnt very practical once me and suzi started added pages and stuff. Reverted back to the default template for now until I can whip up something that we both like.

Wednesday I met up with my sister, Tracey, and her partner, Simon. Went shopping in IKEA, Bristol. I’d never been to an IKEA before and bloody hell, I was impressed! We spent all day there - oops. When I got back to Frome Matt and I went to give blood (first time for Matt) and then we went to the Bath Odeon Cinema to see Iron Man.
On Thursday evening Matt and I hosted a Murder Mystery Dinner Party entitled Death By Chocolate! I served a selection of continental meats and olives for starter, Chicken a la Suz (Chicken in puff pastry with bacon, mushrooms, onions and garlic) with new potatoes and veg for main, and Chocolate Fondant Pudding for dessert. I then turned on my chocolate foutain into which everyone dipped fruit and marshmallows.

I went down to Frome for my Easter Holiday. Matt had to work for a lot of it but we managed to squeezed some fun things in, including going to Lonleat Safari Park. We went to stay with my sister, Heather, her husband, Steve and my niece, Jess, in Plymouth over the Easter weekend. We had a walk around Plymouth Hoe and The Barbican, and of course, many Easter eggs were exchanged.

Santes Dwynwen is the Welsh equivalent to Saint Valentine. Dydd Santes Dwynwen is celebrated on 25th of January. Matt came to visit me in Borth for that weekend and he made me a Welsh Lovespoon.
Saint Valentines Day fell during the half term holiday for me, so I spent that week in Frome. Matt treated me to a meal in a really nice Chinese restaurant on the 14th. ^_^

On the Saturday we met up with my very good friend, Claire, her husband, Stu, and their friend, Mike. We all went shopping and then ice-skating on an outdoor rink which was loads of fun.

On the Sunday Matt caught the train back to Frome while I had to navigate my way home from Cardiff alone!
